- Having personally being evolved in the equine industry, and working with Pat Hooks, a master clinician , I feel I can comment with some authority on Pat's ability to teach students and train young horses. I started an apprenticeship program using Pat Hooks method exclusively in 1996. I have trained several horses to world class status championships and now hold two clinic a month, from novices students ,to advance riders in the classic seat. I write national articles for At A Gait Magazine and other journals for the gaited horse community. Pat has taken his time to teach the journey of the horse and is my go to coach. I feel my accomplishments are a legacy from a great horseman. It is truly amazing what Pat hooks can do in a round pen with a young horse. He has the ability to read the young horse and make the right decision, and then become the horse.

- Pat Hooks’ brand of horse sense is accessible to horse lovers of all
levels and all disciplines. From the backyard horse owner to the serious competitor, Hooks manages to translate equine behavior in a manner that is interesting and, much more importantly, useful. From the basics that even experienced horsemen need to be reminded of from time to time, to the sophisticated fine-tuning of the horse- rider relationship, Hooks uses unique teaching skills to get his point across. At HorseFest 2007, Pat Hooks drew large crowds and excellent reviews. It’s not so tough to find folks who are good with horses but finding one who is good with both horses and people as well is tough. Pat Hooks fits into that saddle nicely. Mark Parker HorseFest=
